Country of Origin Labels

Government regulations regarding “COUNTRY OF ORIGIN FOOD LABELLING LAWS”, state that from the 1st July 2018, it is mandatory for most food sold in Australia in retail stores to have these labels.

There are different labels depending on where the food was grown, produced, made or packaged. The CoOL online tool, available here, will help you identify the appropriate label for your food product.

There are two types of these new country of origin labels and samples are below. We can help with artwork and printing of these labels if required.

Country of Origin labels, on rolls or sheets

STEP 1

Choose the wording you are required to have on your product.

STEP 2

Choose the size of the label and the layout. You can have any size or layout as long as the wording can be easily read. You can include it on your own custom label.

STEP 3

Choose what kind of label stock you require. You can have whatever you require as there is a wide range to choose from. The most common is gloss white paper with gloss clear varnish, gloss clear lamination or gloss white synthetic (Poly Propylene) with a gloss clear varnish, or lamination which gives it extra protection.

STEP 4

Decide what quantity you require. Roll prices are calculated per 70 metre roll, so quantities are rounded up to the nearest full roll.
A4 sheet prices are calculated per A4 sheet, so quantities are rounded up to the nearest full sheet.
